After a spellbinding debut album and a relentless touring schedule that cemented them as one of the UK’s most exciting live acts, CVC are back with Bonnie & Clyde, a slick, synth-infused detour into the world of cinematic escapism. With a driving, disco-tinged groove that nods to CHIC and a sense of storytelling reminiscent of the golden age of road movies, the Welsh six-piece have once again flexed their versatility, proving they’re more than just a good-time rock ‘n’ roll band.
From the moment Bonnie & Clyde kicks off, it’s clear that CVC are leaning into a more polished, electronic sound. Vocalist Francesco ‘Cesc’ Orsi takes centre stage, delivering a narrative of high-stakes romance and rebellious adventure, inspired by the film Queen & Slim. His delivery is both urgent and seductive, gliding over a pulsating bassline and shimmering synths that drive the track forward like an engine at full throttle.
Produced by Chris Hughes, renowned for his work on Tears For Fears’ Songs From The Big Chair, the track is a masterclass in slick production. There’s a tension in the music that mirrors the song’s outlaw spirit, an intoxicating mix of anticipation and exhilaration, as if the listener is riding shotgun on a neon-lit highway chase.
While CVC’s debut album Get Real introduced the band’s blend of funk, rock, and soul with infectious energy, Bonnie & Clyde marks an evolution. The disco-fuelled guitars, fluid basslines, and punchy synths reflect a band unafraid to experiment, stepping into the world of modern electro-pop while still maintaining their signature charisma. The influence of Nile Rodgers and the golden era of danceable funk-rock is undeniable, yet CVC injects their own stamp of youthful exuberance and raw live energy into the mix.

CVC’s reputation as a live powerhouse has been well-earned. Their shows are sweat-drenched, high-energy celebrations where tight musicianship meets a carefree, almost telepathic connection between band members. Their upcoming UK tour, spanning 14 headline and festival dates, is set to reinforce their status as a must-see act in 2025.
The tour kicks off in Aberystwyth on February 21st at the Trawsnewid Festival, before rolling through cities like Bristol, Coventry, Portsmouth, and Edinburgh. Notably, the band will perform two consecutive nights at London’s Oslo on April 4th and 5th—a testament to their growing demand in the capital. Scottish fans will also get a rare treat with back-to-back shows in Edinburgh and Aberdeen in May, before the tour wraps up in Sunderland.

With Bonnie & Clyde setting the tone, CVC have promised a series of AA-side singles leading into the summer festival circuit. If this latest release is anything to go by, fans can expect more genre-blurring, cinematic storytelling with a groove-laden backbone. Their ability to shift gears while keeping the essence of their sound intact suggests they’re on the path to something truly special.
For now, buckle up—CVC’s ride is only just getting started. Grab your tickets, hit play on Bonnie & Clyde, and get ready for the ultimate live experience.
